SOL GELATO

We were supposed to go home after coming from Chili's...
My daughter Phranczeska kept on insisting that we should drop by the Piazza cause she wanted to feed the pigeons and play.

While walking, this cute sign immediately grabbed my attention.
Hooray for friday!

The store...
It was cute and small, around 3 small tables I think..
Upon entering the store, you'll notice this colorful wall of the Italy's canal.
Looking at it, a gondola ride through the canals of Venice gives the room an authentic Italian feel. .

*DID you know that Gondoliers must be officially licensed, must wear black pants, a striped shirt, and closed dark shoes. They usually have a special hat but don't always wear it*

Now the Gelato!
Lots of flavors to choose from..
My daughter chose Ferrero
see how thick and creamy it is!

I've tried Ferrero  from different gelato shops, this one is really flavorful!
It really brought out the Ferrero flavor and it had chunks of chocolate too!
one of the best I'd say.

As I mentioned in my previous post, I love Salted Caramel.

All I could say was WOW!
this has been the best salted caramel gelato for me so far, I used to think that Merry Moo's version of sea salt caramel gelato was the best, I changed my mind. This is on top of my list!
It even had chunks of honeycomb, my daughter tried it and said right away that is was better!

I will definitely comeback to try other flavors.
Their gelato really hit the spot!
Believe me it's really good!!

Chili's (Tomas Morato branch)

After coming from Paul Cabral to have my daughter's measurements taken for her gown,
we decided to have a quick bite at Chili's

they had a promotion going , we decided not to take it.

There were a few people dining, since it was around 2:30 pm

Molten Chocolate Smoothie.
My daughter immediately devoured it!
Dalandan Juice
not the best version of dalandan juice i've tasted, yet it was okay.
My daughter was also given a paper and crayons while waiting.

Ceasar Salad

Beef Fajita was great!
it was tender and flavorful, you wouldn't even need the tortillas.

I ordered Mushroom-Swiss
The mushrooms really complemented the burger well. I had mine done medium, it was a thick large juicy patty, the bun was soft. which was excellent!

Chicken Fajita
My aunt loved this.

Big Mouth Burger Bites
four savory mini beef burgers with bacon.
I really didn't taste the bacon part of it, but these burgers are tasty!
The patties they use really make a big difference among other burger joints.

Service was great, smiles all around, nice setting and family friendly.
They give you good portions for a very reasonable price and the food is good too.

Cake2Go Part 2

As per my previous blog entry about Cake2go, I said I will be coming back for more of
their delicious cakes, here it is:

I added pictures of the store since I wasn't able to add them before.

The place is cute and small but they do have a good variety of scrumptious cakes.

Ferrero Cake yum!  Too bad the Mango Meringue Symphony wasn't available that time

Devil's Food Cheesecake
The store says that this is a must try, so I did...
I liked the presentation of this cake.
The cake tasted more like a chunk of chocolate mousse,
it was crumbly, not too sweet, to be honest I didn't really taste the cheesecake part of it.
The cheesecake was mild, you'd think your just eating chocolate mousse cake.
Maybe I was just expecting the cheesecake to be rich, fair enough the mousse was good.

I  love salted caramel!
Drinksice cream, you name it!
I was so anxious to try this cake.

When you first bite into this cake, you'll  immediately taste the coffee flavor.
This one tasted a lot like the mocha chiffon cake of Goldilocks.
The salted caramel frosting was mild, you'll not really taste it right away unless your looking for that salted caramel flavor. The flavors isn't as strong as I expected. Sad to say this cake was a letdown.

lastly is Mom's Chocoholic fudge Cake

Now among the three cakes, this is the cake I loved the most,
second to their Red velvet cake which makes my mouth water as I write this review.

Two layers of rich chocolate sponge cake, tasty custard cream filling, all topped off with smooth chocolate fudge
This cake was good, it was moist, very chocolatey and not sweet.
The custard cream filling was just perfect. It wasn't sweet and wasn't over powering.

YUMMEEH!
The good thing about Cake2Go is that the sweetness of their cakes is just right!
Their cakes are moist and crumbly and they offer lots of different flavors for you to choose from.
It's ultimately up to you to choose which cake would be your favorite.

Nesquick vs Hershey's chocolate syrup

Nesquik and Hershey's Syrup are commonly used to make chocolate milk.
I grew up basically drinking both.
I love both a lot, that's why I decided to blog about it.(wink)

Hershey's syrup is very easy to mix in with milk cause it is in a syrup form.
It also comes in a squeeze type bottle.
Since It is liquid, once you pour it in, you'll definitely smell how chocolatey it is.
The very best thing about Hershey's syrup is being able to use it in many ways. You can put it on top of crepes, ice creams, whip creams, pancakes, pastries and a lot more..

See how dark and thick the chocolate syrup is! smells like chocolate kisses too.

Nesquik chocolate milk powder comes in an eye catching bright yellow container.
The powder is fine, yet it is not as easy to mix into milk as Hershey's syrup.
It smells chocolatey too but a bit milder than Hershey's scent.

The problem with the powders is that you can still taste the individual grains that didn't mix in,
although I do love eating those small chocolate clumps at the bottom of the glass.

Before when hubby was still my boyfriend, I used to make him chocolate pastillas using this. It has a darker chocolate flavor than other chocolate milk powder which is perfect! He loved it so much that he ate it for 2 months straight every after meal, and still requested it often after that.

The milk tends to get much darker with the syrup as opposed to powders,
It really does taste chocolatier too.
I prefer Hershey's chocolate syrup.

Really, with any of these, you can't go wrong.

Lotus Biscoff Spread CRUNCHY - BEWARE - This stuff is addictive

Biscoff crunchy Spread is a sweet, creamy spread made with Biscoff Cookies (66%)
(compared to 57% in the creamy variety) It is a delicious European alternative to peanut butter or chocolate spread.
Contains no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives.

Curious about the famous cookie spread, I decided to order  a jar from Taste Central
and after 3 business days it finally arrived, Yay!

Biscoff cookies pureed  into a delicious spread.

I was surprised to see the huge amount of cookie granules .
Pure heaven in a jar. So completely, irresistibly awesome.
It kinda makes you feel like your eating peanut butter because of it's creamy consistency yet it is free of nuts!
The crunchy Biscoff cookies makes it more addicting!
I tried it with toast but I like it more with just heaping spoonfuls straight out of the jar!
I also like it more than Nutella.

That’s all for now. I have a date with the jar and a spoon.

Cake2Go

Late for my sister in law's birthday and me annoying hubby for sweets,
hubby decided to drop by this small cute cake shop. The shop had a strong red color with dash of blue and white that looked like a courier service or a fast food joint rather than a cake shop.

Here are some mouthwatering cakes to choose from...

Oreo cake, Mom's chocolate fudge cake, Toblerone cake, Dulce de Leche cheesecake,
Nestle Crunch cake, Devil's Food cheesecake

Sugar Free Sansrival, Quatro Leches cake, Cadbury cake, Salted Caramel cake

I chose this....

Cake2Go's Red Velvet Cake has a generous amount of cream cheese frosting all over. It is creamy and yet suprisingly light. It has the right amount of sweetness and has a very very mild tanginess to it. The base of this cake is one of the most dense yet very moist cakes I've had. The flavor just bursts with goodness.
This cake is for people who don't want their red velvet tangy.
Love this cake! although Cafe Jeepney's red velvet cake still tops my list.

Ferrero Rocher is one of my favorite chocolates. It is always included in the balik-bayan box my dad or mom sends me. For me and my sister, this is 1 of  the chocolates we usually don't share. Instead of me leaving it in the fridge, I usually keep mine inside my drawer or somewhere safe LOL (she does the same).

I had high expectations with this Ferrero cake. The cake was light, moist, and delicious. The cake is also crumbly, it wasn't dense like the red velvet cake. The frosting was not sweet and you can taste a mild hint of hazelnut to it, the almonds on the outside icing made a huge factor to the cake which made it taste like Ferrero. It was good.

Among the 2, I'd pick the red velvet cake. I will definitely try other flavors of their yummy cakes soon!
