Park Avenue Desserts

I haven't been blogging for quite sometime,
and I almost forgot about this shop I went to...

After the Sunday mass at St. Alphonsus Mary de Liguori Parish in Magallanes,
we dropped by this cute pastry shop.
The shop was very inviting..
It was so colorful, clean, and bright
love the playful interiors!
The pastries..
blue velvet cakes anyone?

Cronuts..

I can never say no to red velvet!
It's one of my favorite cakes.
This red velvet cake was somewhat dry and the frosting wasn't very whipped as well.
After taking one bite, and one bite only, I was not a happy camper. The cake didn't grab me...no cocoa taste. The icing didn't sing "cream cheese" to me either.

There’s nothing better than a chewy, fudgy, double brownie, just like not much can beat a warm and gooey, chewy chocolate chip cookie, imagine it rolled into one!
Brookies are brownies with cookie in the middle.
Not just any cookie though it has to be a chocolate chip cookie. More chocolate mixed into the mix the merrier
I absolutely love how moist the brookies are!
indulgence in every bite!
These were excellent.
Because of the brookies,
I will certainly try other desserts they have if I get the chance to drop by again.

SHI LIN

After visiting grandma at St Lukes,
we decided to have dinner at Shi Lin restaurant which was just nearby.
I love how bright and classy the place looks
An open kitchen is always nice.
The sound, the smell, and the sight of cooking can really help you work up an appetite.

Xiao long bao was good.
The wrapper wasn't too thick, firmness was perfect.
Once you bite through the thin, smooth dumpling wrapper, you'll discover a shock of hot, rich, broth bathing the savory pork filling.

We ordered Shredded Pork Fried Rice & Shrimp with egg fried rice.
The shredded pork fried rice was the highlight of our meal. It really stood out!

Salt and Pepper Chicken

Salt and Pepper squid was tasty, very crunchy and not oily

Pork buns
It was like Xiao long bao! it also had soup inside but this time it was inside the meat.
flavorful as well.

Spicy Spare ribs

The Salt and Pepper chicken & the Spicy Spare Ribs tasted the same.. it was just a pork or a chicken version of the other.. it was okay, nothing to rave about.

I'll probably rate the taste of the food here 3/5 and ambiance 4/5
Maybe I'll give it another try..
I might go back for their fried rice & xiao long bao...

Bono Gelato

While waiting for the seminar at Dusit Thani Manila, I decided to
try Bono Artisanal Gelato to see what the fuzz was all about...
The colorful attractive wall says everything about the place!

Unlike the usual Gelato shops, their Ice cream isn't displayed in a pan.
they're covered in  metalic bins which I think helps it stay more fresh.

They make their gelato fresh daily, in small batches.
NO ARTIFICIAL ADDITIVES (colors, emulsifiers, flavors) and do not use any ready-made mixes or pastes. They make everything from scratch, the slow-food, whole-food way; the same way the Italian mammas used to do it.
You can have your gelato in waffle cones or in cups

I chose their new flavor Red Velvet. My favorite!!
I also tried their best seller SPECULOOS!
I just love cookie butter!

As you can see they don't scrimp on ingridients!
In every bite you can really taste chunks and chunks of  cookie butter!
their gelato is smooth and very creamy!
The Red Velvet gelato is simply divine!
BEST Gelato I ever had!
You can taste chunks of cream cheese & pieces of red velvet cake!
Every  spoonful I had was pure heaven.

Born in Manila, with Italian Soul. They have  been featured in the Italian magazine Punto Italy which is distributed worldwide! (they really deserve it!)
I love this Gelato shop!
The atmosphere was bright & staff was really friendly.  Prices were very reasonable.
The selection of flavours is a tad on the small side, but I am a strong believer in quality than quantity. So far their Gelato is really one of the best!

7 Corners Buffet

My husband brought me here for a nice lunch on my birthday
 Nice range of food offered.

Oven brick pizza's just for you!
The theme was French food for July

The famous Prime Rib
This first prime rib we got was over cooked. I specifically requested it to be done medium but they gave it to me well done. My daughter also requested her's medium it was also well done when given to her.

Pasta station

 Isn't these desserts just divine!

They had my fave, sliced almonds and walnuts for ice cream toppings.

 Yummm!
most of the cakes were really good.

Here's what we got...
My daughter getting her salmon sashimi fix.

My husband and daughter got loads of  lobster!
Plate after plate! They had it grilled in butter.

Hubby got his plate of lechon de leche.
This lechon tasted really good.  Skin was crispy and very flavorful as well.

My second prime rib was done as I requested. Medium. it was almost melt in your mouth tender, the marbling was just right and it was very flavorful. I think it really depends on the person grilling it, this was done by a different chef.

Salmon sashimi, liver paté, french shrimp salad, and potato croquettes.

Grilled oyster , lobster and sashimi again for my daughter

My daughter said I cook better Pesto. Naks!

Seafood Marinara
Although this was loaded with seafood, I still prefer Italliani's version.

 My dessert plate!
Pure indulgence.
My daughter Pharell enjoyed the desserts a lot!

Grapes and cheese
See how huge those grapes are! Phranczeska joked that it wasn't grapes but  dates.

This strawberry cheesecake was so good! they used the freshest strawberries and  the cheese cake itself was creamy and just slightly tangy which I love!

I had 4 servings of mocha chocolate ice cream with sliced almonds and walnuts, yum! hubby had his with pili nuts.

After that fabulous lunch, we headed of to the mall to bond with the kids and have more gastronomical adventures..
Thanks hubby for my red velvet birthday cake :)
